School Information
By exploring water and wetlands students and teachers will uncover the surprises and mysteries of the environment, empowering them to make decisions and act in culturally appropriate and locally relevant ways.
Ideas for inquiry could include:
- Environmental Sustainability: Who is responsible?
- What is the interconnectedness between the arts and environmental education?
- Wetland and Water Studies: We all live downstream from each other; what is our responsibility to surrounding communities?
- Environmental Stewardship: What can I do to help?
What They're Saying
Yesterday I felt like a shoe because we were doing lots of movement. I think today I will be like lightning because the day will go by fast. Right now I feel like a clock because I can’t wait to go on the track. It was the best time of my life! I found that each activity was well suited [for age group and curriculum] and if we had any doubts, we were pleasantly surprised at how the students called upon the knowledge gained in their day to day activities. This showed that there was definite listening and understanding. The students have never been given the opportunity to do anything like this before and they’ll never forget this experience.
